On Tuesday, January 11th the boys varsity team will travel to Deer Isle-Stonington. They do not allow spectators, but the game will be live streamed on their Facebook page -https://www.facebook.com/deerislestoningtonhigh/.
On Thursday, January 13th, we will host a triple header. The girl's varsity team plays against Deer Isle-Stonington at 4:00. Boys will play against GSA. Games start at 5:30 and 7:00.
On Thursday, January 20th, the boys teams will travel to Woodland for a make up game. Games are at 5:00 and 6:30. The bus leaves at 3:00.
We have been made aware of 3 positive Covid cases over the weekend that were present during their contagious period last week. Emails and phone calls were used to notify close contacts. Please check your emails. If you did not receive a call or email, your child is not considered a close contact. There is no school today in MSAD #37. Enjoy the snow day!
At this time, MSAD #37 does not have another COVID vaccine clinic scheduled. However, there will be one at Machias Memorial High School on January 14, 2022 from 9:00-4:30. This clinic is open to anyone who is eligible. It is for a COVID Vaccine or Booster for anyone from 5 years up. If going for a booster, please take your COVID vaccine card. Any questions, please call 255-3411. This COVID clinic is being sponsored by Maine CDC, Maine Public Health Nurses.
There will be no Saturday Detention this week (January 8, 2022). Anyone scheduled for this date will need to attend on Saturday, January 15, 2022.
The boys' high school basketball games scheduled for tonight at Woodland have been cancelled. They will be rescheduled at a later date. The varsity team will have practice from 2:30 -4:00 today.
The girls' varsity game that was cancelled last week with Deer-Isle Stonington has been rescheduled for January 13th at 4:00. It will be played at home, which will push the start of the boys' games with George Stevens Academy to 5:30 and 7:00.
The Lady Knights basketball games scheduled for today, Wednesday, December 29th have been cancelled. The boys' varsity game will still be played at 2:30. It is First Responders Day. If you are a first responder (law enforcement, fire, ambulance, doctor, nurse, etc.), please join us for recognition at 2pm.
Spirit Week is in full swing here at NJSHS.
Milbridge Elementary will have practice tonight, December 15th: Girls 4:00-5:30, Boys 5:30-6:30. There will be no practice at Milbridge Thursday night.
Junior High League Basketball Game Information
All SAD #37 students will mask at all games (home and away)
ROSE GAFFNEY: RMG (Machias) is requiring masks for players, coaches, officials, and spectators at the present time. Away team players may invite 2 guests to attend per game. They will have to sign in and provide a phone number.
CUTLER & FORT O’BRIEN/JONESBORO: Cutler and FOB .... Both schools allow both home and away spectators, locker rooms are available for changing, masks are recommended for all, but not required, no or limited concessions available.
JONESPORT: Currently at Jonesport... our spectator base is limited to the household member of JES players, no away fans. We are working on getting the live feed functioning on the school website, if that doesn't happen we will be have it through FB somehow. We will update visiting schools as those games approach. We are requiring spectators to mask, not teams or refs. No concessions sold. Locker rooms available. (DWM parents will have to transport their students to Jonesport and Beals.) Beals is not allowing spectators from the visiting team.
CHERRYFIELD: CES is requiring all to mask with the exception of the 5 on the floor. Locker rooms can be used if needed, limited concessions are available. Currently we are not allowing away spectators but are in the process of trying to change that. We will have a livestreaming for Facebook and our home players are allowed 2 spectators each. Again working on changing to allow others in. MSAD #37 parents (except DWM) will NEED to transport their players to Cherryfield, as no bussing is available.
WOODLAND: Woodland is allowing spectators, locker rooms are available, masks are required for everyone to include players, officials and spectators. No food or drinks except for players to hydrate at timeouts.
MILBRIDGE, HARRINGTON, DW MERRITT: SAD #37 is allowing spectators, locker rooms will not be available, masks are required for everyone to include players, officials, and spectators. MES, HES and DWM will be required to wear masks at all games even if the hosting school is not requiring masking. DWM will offer limited concessions. DWM parents will need to transport their players to Milbridge, Harrington, Jonesport and Beals games. MSAD #37 parents will NEED to transport their players to in district games, as no bussing is available.
ELM STREET: Elm is allowing spectators, locker rooms will be available, and masks for spectators are recommended but optional for players and officials.
Today's (December 15th) Lady Knights Basketball game at George Stevens Academy will be live streamed at www.nfhsnetwork.com. Games start at 5:30 and 7:00.

HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL SCHEDULE CHANGES
LADY KNIGHTS - The games on Friday, December 10th will now be played at 3 and 4:30. The varsity team will play first.
KNIGHTS - On Saturday, December 11th the games at WA will be played at 2 and 3:30. The bus will leave at 12:30.
The National Honor Society and the National Junior Honor Society induction will be held tomorrow, December 8, at 6pm in the cafeteria. Join us in welcoming our new inductees.
Thank you to everyone who made the "Knight of Champions" such a success. It was great to see all the past players on the court and in the stands. Tiffany Strout, what a great idea! Your willingness to help in whatever way is truly appreciated. Thank you to Kandi Robertson for helping secure sponsors. Thank you for all the amazing support from our community for sponsoring the t-shirts, contributing to the raffles, purchasing tickets and biding on our buoy auction. The buoys were all done by local artists and they were truly a work of art. Thank you for taking the time to create these and to Jen Kearns for her help with this. Outstanding work by Peter Joyce being our auctioneer, Dawn Stubbs for creating the online auction and the programs, and for all the people who contributed to the concessions and/or worked concessions. So many people had a part in making this night so successful. The generosity that this community continues to show on a daily basis is truly astounding.
COVID 19 VACCINE CLINIC 12/21/2021
MSAD 37 to host a second Covid-19 vaccination clinic at Harrington Elementary School from 9-4. This clinic is offered to all interested individuals ages 5 and +. First & second doses, as well as booster shots will be available for those eligible. For a booster, you must be 18 and older, have been 6 months past your second dose of Pfizer or Moderna or 2 months since the J&J vaccine.
Please note: If this is your second dose, you will still need to sign and return a second consent form by Monday 12/13. Parents, please check the appropriate box to indicate whether or not you want to be present during your child’s vaccination, otherwise they cannot be vaccinated. Transportation will be provided to the students of MSAD 37. Please let your child’s school know what form of transportation you would like so that we can arrange pick-up as needed.

MSAD 37 organiza una segunda clínica de vacunación Covid-19 en la Escuela Primaria de Harrington de las 9 a las 4 horas. Esta clínica se ofrece a todas las personas interesadas de 5 años para arriba. Estarán disponibles la primera y segunda dosis, así como las vacunas de refuerzo para los que sean elegibles. Para un refuerzo, debe tener 18 años o más, y haber pasado 6 meses de su segunda dosis de Pfizer o Moderna o 2 meses desde la vacuna J&J.
